Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how MoD-IT Games handles information when you browse the collection or play its browser games at https://mod-it.games, including GAMES, DOCK, PARK, HAMSTER, SOKOBAN and the multiplayer collection.
You can play without creating an account. Some games save your progress on your device; multiplayer games exchange information with other players. Hosting, analytics and, where enabled, advertising also involve external services.
1. Who operates the site
MoD-IT Games is operated by Grzegorz Byrka, who is responsible for the personal data processing he determines for this collection. To ask a privacy question or exercise your rights, contact him through his LinkedIn profile. Please avoid sending sensitive information in your initial message.
External service providers also process information under their own policies, linked below. If you contact the operator, your message and contact details are used to answer your request and deal with any related obligations.
2. Game saves and preferences
Games use browser cookies and local storage to remember scores, progress and settings:
- DOCK and PARK: score records and recent results are saved in cookies. PARK also stores your selected colour and game mode locally.
- HAMSTER: your best score and recent runs are saved in local storage.
- SOKOBAN: completed levels and records are saved in a cookie; your current level, move history and progress are also saved in local storage.
- Multiplayer: your chosen display name and sound preference are saved in local storage.
These saves support the game features you use. They are not an operator-run online account or central leaderboard. Cookies can accompany browser requests to the same host; local storage is not automatically sent with those requests. You can remove both through your browser's site-data settings.
3. Multiplayer and chat
Joining a multiplayer room shares your display name, a connection identifier and game actions with the host and other participants as needed to run the game. Room chat shares your message text, display name and message timestamps with participants. New players can receive the room's most recent 25 messages.
Game and chat data are exchanged through encrypted WebRTC connections, normally between browsers, with the host coordinating the room. Connection setup uses PeerJS Cloud and STUN/TURN services, including Google STUN and PeerJS relays. These services receive network information such as IP addresses and connection identifiers; a TURN relay may carry encrypted traffic. Other players' browsers may also learn network addresses as part of a peer connection.
The application keeps room and chat state in browser memory rather than an operator-run database. The room can retain chat across rematches. Other participants may copy or save information they receive. Use a nickname, share room links only with intended participants and avoid posting personal or sensitive information. See PeerJS's connection information.
4. Hosting and external connections
The collection is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub receives information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address and browser requests, and logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Multiplayer loads the PeerJS library from jsDelivr, which receives the network information needed to serve that file. See jsDelivr's privacy policy. Links to sites such as LinkedIn or sharing services take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Delivering pages and connecting a room are necessary to provide the features you request. Security processing supports the legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and available.
5. Google Analytics
The collection uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and improve games. Depending on settings and your privacy choices, Google may receive page addresses, referral information, browser and device details, approximate location, cookie identifiers and usage events. For example, SOKOBAN reports level starts and completions, move counts and push counts.
Google Analytics uses IP addresses to derive approximate location; Google states that GA4 does not log or store those IP addresses. Analytics can use cookies such as _ga. The operator reviews reports about use of the collection rather than collecting registration details.
See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. Google AdSense
Some pages use Google AdSense to help fund this collection. This section applies on pages where advertising is enabled. The privacy policy page itself does not load advertising, analytics or consent scripts.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other sites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalise ads based on visits across the Internet. Advertising services may also process IP addresses, device and browser information, identifiers, ad interactions and fraud-prevention information.
Where the Google consent message is available, it lists the applicable advertising partners and purposes and lets you make or change your choices. You can also manage Google's personalised advertising through My Ad Center, and participating vendors' choices through YourAdChoices. Opting out of personalisation does not necessarily stop all ads or all cookies.
Learn more in Google's advertising information and Google's advertising cookie information.
7. Cookies and your choices
Functional game storage remembers the progress and settings described above. Analytics and advertising storage serve separate purposes. Where consent is required, optional analytics, advertising storage and personalised advertising require your permission. Simply browsing or playing does not mean that you agree to these uses.
When the consent message is enabled, it can remember your choice across games under https://mod-it.games in the same browser. Use its Privacy and cookie settings link to revisit your decision, where available. A new browser, cleared site data or a required consent renewal can cause the message to appear again.
You can also block cookies or delete site data in your browser. This can reset game saves, your remembered name and settings, and consent choices. Declining optional uses does not require an account or prevent local gameplay; blocking storage can prevent progress from being saved.
8. Retention and international processing
- Game cookies: DOCK, PARK and SOKOBAN set a one-year expiry when saving; later saves renew it. Browser settings can remove them earlier.
- Local storage: saves and preferences have no application-defined expiry and remain until removed by you or your browser.
- Multiplayer: the application retains room state during the room session, with at most 25 recent chat messages. It does not create a permanent server-side chat archive.
- Analytics and advertising: retention depends on the Google service, cookie and account settings. Some reports are aggregated and have different retention rules from individual events. Google's policies and cookie information describe these periods.
- Contact requests: messages are retained as needed to respond, resolve the matter and meet applicable legal obligations.
GitHub, Google, jsDelivr and connection providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their published policies describe processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards. For information about a specific transfer connected with this collection, contact the operator.
9. Your privacy rights
Where applicable, processing to provide requested game and communication features is based on performance of that service; optional analytics and advertising requiring consent are based on consent; security and handling enquiries may rely on legitimate interests. Legal obligations may also require processing or retention.
Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence, work or the place of an alleged infringement.
Contact Grzegorz Byrka using the contact route above. The operator may need information to verify a request. Locally saved data can be deleted in your browser; the operator cannot remotely delete another player's copies or identify every visitor from an anonymous enquiry. Requests concerning providers' independent processing can also be addressed to those providers.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may change when games, services or data practices change. The latest version is available on this page with its update date. Where a change requires a new consent decision, it must be requested separately.
